Gina Urso-Dudash began her studies in classical ballet in Detroit as a young girl. She studied with such noted teachers as Sandra Severo, Charmaine Schick and Iacob Lascu. She has studied dance at some of the countries finest programs such as Interlochen, National Performing Arts Academy Chicago under the direction of Christina Petit formerly of Ballet Russe, Detroit City Ballet and Dance Detroit. Ms. Urso-Dudash is accredited by Dance Educators of America one of the largest teacher accreditation programs in the country.
She began her teaching career in 1985 throughout the metro area and has taught ever since. In the past 13 years, Gina has founded the Southeastern Michigan Classical Ballet, Dance Grosse Ile, Dance Brownstown, and Dance Trenton. She has been an active volunteer with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, helping to promote a book on the world class orchestra where her father, Santo Urso was a first violinist for 47 years. She also volunteers for other arts organizations and committees. She has staged and choreographed numerous works inculding Nutcracker, Sleeping beauty, Cinderella, Swan Lake, The Four Seasons and The Rondo Caprisioso to name a few.
Many of Ms. Urso-Dudashs' students have gone on to study with major schools and summer programs such as ABT, Joffrey Midwest, School of Ballet Chicago, Interlochen, The National Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts and The Blue Lake International Program as well as major universities.
